Ocean Adventure Learn-to-Swim Program
The Ocean Adventure Learn-to-Swim Program spans 11 months, with each level represented by a sea animal. Swimmers progress through structured skills, ensuring fluency before advancing. After completing all levels, they receive one free month in the White Group, where they can explore competitive swimming team or Swim School.
Levels & Progression
Level 1: Starfish (Introduction to Water & Safety)

Objective : Build water confidence, introduce floating, breath control, and safe water entry/exit.

Skills: Comfortable entering/exiting water Face in water with controlled breathing Front and back float (5 seconds) Schedule: 2-3 lessons/week, 25 minutes each Day 1: Water entry, face immersion, assisted float practice Day 2: Breath control, gentle kicking, supported back float Day 3: Safety drills, review, introduction to movement

Level 2: Seahorse (Basic Propulsion & Coordination)

Objective : Improve floating skills and introduce basic propulsion techniques.

Skills: Comfortable entering/exiting water Face in water with controlled breathing Front and back float (5 seconds) Gentle kicking while supported Schedule: 2-3 lessons/week, 25 minutes each Day 1: Floating, glide push-offs, assisted kicks Day 2: Rolling drills, coordination games Day 3: Putting it all together, short assisted swims

Level 3: Jellyfish (Treading & Body Control)

Objective : Introduce treading and improve endurance.

Skills: Treading water (10 seconds) Controlled jumps into water Basic freestyle arm movement Floating transitions without assistance Schedule: Day 1: Treading drills, floating refinement Day 2: Kicking with movement, assisted freestyle strokes Day 3: Water exits, endurance games

Level 4: Dolphin (Building Endurance & Stroke Fundamentals)

Objective : Develop stroke mechanics with breathing coordination.

Skills: Freestyle with side breathing (5 yards) Backstroke basics (5 yards) Treading water (20 seconds) Jump, turn, and swim to wall Schedule: Day 1: Freestyle with breathing, streamline push-offs Day 2: Backstroke intro, treading expansion Day 3: Endurance practice, fun skill challenges

Level 5: Turtle (Refining Strokes & Endurance)

Objective : Improve stroke efficiency and introduce breaststroke.

Skills: Freestyle (10 yards) Backstroke (10 yards) Introduction to breaststroke kick Treading water (30 seconds) Schedule: Day 1: Stroke drills, breaststroke kick practice Day 2: Endurance swim sets, floating transitions Day 3: Swim with turns, coordination challenges

Level 6: Otter (Stroke Mastery & Deep Water Confidence)

Objective : Refine freestyle, introduce full breaststroke.

Skills: Freestyle with side breathing (15 yards) Backstroke with coordination (15 yards) Breaststroke arms with kick (5 yards) Treading (45 seconds) Schedule: Day 1: Stroke improvement drills Day 2: Endurance swim focus Day 3: Deep-water safety exercises

Level 7: Stingray (Competitive Skills & Butterfly Basics)

Objective : Improve endurance, introduce butterfly kick.

Skills: Freestyle (25 yards) Backstroke (25 yards) Butterfly kick introduction Treading (60 seconds) Schedule: Day 1: Endurance swims, butterfly kick drills Day 2: Stroke refinement, turns practice Day 3: Fun relays, skill application

Level 8: Shark (Advanced Stroke Development)

Objective : Master all four strokes.

Skills: Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke (25 yards each) Butterfly (15 yards) Flip turns introduction Treading (90 seconds) Schedule: Day 1: Full stroke breakdown Day 2: Flip turns, stroke transitions Day 3: Endurance training, race starts

Level 9: Orca (Pre-Competitive Readiness)

Objective : Prepare for swim team with race techniques.

Skills: 50 yards freestyle 50 yards backstroke 25 yards butterfly Competitive diving Schedule: Day 1: Sprint workouts, diving practice Day 2: Endurance and stroke perfection Day 3: Race day simulation

Level 10: Manta Ray (Final Preparation for White Group)

Objective : Develop advanced skills for Competitive swim team or Rec Swim.

Skills: 100 yards freestyle Flip turns and open turns Sprint techniques Water polo eggbeater kick Schedule: Day 1: Endurance and sprint set training Day 2: Stroke fine-tuning, race starts Day 3: White Group introduction drills

Final Step: White Group (Optional Month for Swim Team)
Upon completion of the Ocean Adventure program, swimmers receive one free month in the White Group to try competitive swimming.
This allows them to decide their next step in aquatic sports.
Completion Standards
There is no time-standard for completion, however, completing all exercises should not exceed 30 minutes.
Each sub-section (Water Safety / Water Coordination / Swim Technique / Conditioning) shall be checked as a stand-alone skillset.
Excellent:
Swimmer shows understanding and is able to complete all exercises. Swimmer does not need assistance at any point during examination.
Satisfactory:
Swimmer shows understanding and is able to complete most exercises. Swimmer might need an example of the exercise prior to execution. Swimmer might need assistance from coach while doing exercises, but can properly execute them once they are assured of their safety and ability.
Unsatisfactory:
Swimmer refuses or is unable to complete two or more exercises.
A minimum grade of Satisfactory for all 4 sub-sections is required to complete the respective level. A certificate will be granted upon completion of examination.
