For our 8 Under age swimmers, the White group is the top group. These swimmers have at least 1-2 years of competitive swimming experience and have swum at the ‘White/Red’ level for their age group. The goal of this practice group is to help swimmers improve their stroke skills and develop their enthusiasm for swimming while also teaching them the skills they will need to transition into our 9-11 year-old Red group. Swimmers are also taught the “how- to’s” of swim practice sessions (reading a pace clock, swimming circle pattern, etc.).
This stage focuses on laying strong technical foundations in all four strokes as well as increasing knowledge of events at races and swim meets.
Swimmers in this category are encouraged to compete in J.O. MAX level swim meets under the “Red/White” color scheme. Each week, swimmers are urged to attend three of the five scheduled practices.

The Red Group is made up of top-level 9 – 12 year old swimmers who meet the ” Red” standard “For their age. The goal of this group is to prepare for “Blue/Red/White” meets, as well as “JO MAX.” “meets, as well as the Junior Olympic Championships The Red group is intended to accommodate a wide range of 12 U swimmers. The Red / Water Polo Conditioning group is for you if you are just getting started in competitive swimming or if you are a competitive swimmer who also participates in other sports. The goal of this practice group is to help swimmers improve their stroke skills and build their swimming enjoyment. A tough practice is given to swimmers in order to teach them how to be more efficient in the water. To begin in this group, swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool (50 yards) without assistance.
Both parents and swimmers must have a real interest in and dedication to competitive swimming success at this point (s). This level is focused on developing solid technical foundations in all four strokes as well as a long-term competitive mindset, which includes:

The Blue Group is designed to satisfy the needs of all competitive swimmers ages 11 to 13 and older who want to improve their skills to compete at the JAG/JO level of the sport. Swimmers in this group are honing their talents and gaining experience, but they still need to increase their overall swimming level and should concentrate on preparing for the rigors of the top practice groups. To be eligible for this group, swimmers must be able to swim at the ‘Blue’ level for their age group.
The Blue / Water Polo Conditioning group is for you if you are a competitive swimmer or a competitive swimmer who also participates in other sports. This group is still focused on learning and reinforcing proper stroke mechanics and technique, as well as building and maintaining a strong anaerobic and aerobic basis.
This group should compete in the “Blue/Red/White,” “Summer/Winter Invite,” and “JO” events. Swimmers should attend four of the five Practices.
This group is also being physically and technically prepared to advance to the HS Senior Level Program.
Blue Group: 11 & older swimmers at the ‘blue’ level for their age who are working toward JAG/JO times.
Practices: 5 offered per week

This is the highest level Patriot practice group for swimmers aged 13 and up. This category is open to swimmers who are at or above the ‘J.O.’ level for their age group. Practices are scheduled for ten days a week, with early morning practices possible. Each practice session emphasizes proper stroke mechanics as swimmers strive to grow and become the greatest athlete they can be. Space in this group is limited, and swimmers who meet the minimum performance requirements may be assigned to other groups until space becomes available. Swimmers are expected to attend 7 practice sessions and scheduled competitions.
The group is designed to help advanced, dedicated swimmers attain the highest level of competitive swimming possible. The swimmers have Senior times and are working on Sectional times.
HS Senior: 13 & older swimmers with J.O. level times for their age who are working towards JAG, Senior, California Sectional, Junior National, and National times.
Practices: 7-10 offered per week
